Public transport is now cheaper for Bateman locals, with the Cook Labor Government delivering the $2.80 ‘Go Anywhere’ fare across the Transperth network.
We promised a $2.80 flat fare on WA public transport, and that promise has now been delivered.
Passengers can now travel anywhere on the Transperth and Transregional networks for up to three hours for $2.80 with an auto-loading SmartRider, replacing the previous multi-zone system and making fares simpler and more affordable.
For people in Bateman, this means cheaper trips whether commuting to work, heading into the city, travelling to university or visiting family and friends across Perth.
The change is expected to deliver significant savings for WA households, with regular commuters able to save up to $625 per year.
The $2.80 fare builds on other public transport initiatives already in place, including:
-
Fare Free Sundays across the Transperth network
-
Free public transport for students travelling to and from school
-
Free off-peak travel for seniors
Together, these initiatives are helping make public transport more affordable while easing cost-of-living pressures for Bateman families.
