Funding is now available for schools and community groups in Bateman to plant more trees through the Cook Labor Government’s Let’s Grow Grants program.
The $10 million program runs over four years and supports practical projects that increase tree canopy and help create cooler, greener neighbourhoods across Perth and Peel.
Grants can be used for projects such as planting trees, improving shade and greening school grounds, parks, streets and other community spaces.
Funding is available through two streams:
-
$500 to $10,000 for smaller community projects
-
$10,001 to $100,000 for larger projects
Increasing tree canopy helps reduce urban heat, improves biodiversity and creates more comfortable outdoor spaces for the community.
Schools and community organisations across Bateman are encouraged to consider how they could use the funding to plant more trees and improve local environments.
Programs like Let’s Grow help ensure our suburbs remain cooler, greener and more liveable for local families into the future.
