Improving road safety and making our streets more vibrant is important to our government.
That's why we've created the Streets Alive Program, working in partnership with local governments and the town team movement, to provide up to $100,000 in grants to improve pedestrian safety and encourage people to walk, wheel and play in our streets.
The following projects were awarded grants of $5,000 here in Bateman.
1. Booragoon Town Team - Bullcreek to Fremantle Safe Cycling Route
- This project aims to develop a safer cycling route between Canning and Leach Highways to promote safe active travel.
2. Brentwood Village Town Team - Brentwood Comes Alive
- A series of signage and kerb art installations at Brentwood Village that aims to increase road safety and calm local traffic while connecting the local community.
3. Kardy Connect Town Team - Kardy Reflect & Connect
- Enhancing ctive travel in Kardinya by researching local roads and connections to engage the community and gather insights on popular routes and safety issues. The resulting map will highlight safe routes, distances and local tips around Bike to School Month.
