Two new accessible dinghies are now on the water at the South of Perth Yacht Club, giving more people the chance to experience sailing through the Sailability program.

With the Cook Labor Government, I delivered $38,000 in funding for these new vessels, building on an earlier $80,000 investment for an all-abilities rescue boat to support the program.

It was an honour to help launch the dinghies at the South of Perth Yacht Club and see the vessels ready to support the next group of sailors.

Sailability is a volunteer-run program that gives people with disabilities the opportunity to experience sailing regardless of mobility or experience, using specially designed boats and the support of trained volunteers.

Programs like this open the water to more people in our community. Sailing builds confidence, creates friendships and gives participants the freedom of being out on the Swan River.

A huge thank you to the dedicated Sailability volunteers. Their skill, kindness and good humour make this program possible and create such a welcoming environment for everyone involved.

These new vessels will help ensure even more people have the chance to experience the joy of sailing.
